This beautiful thoughtful book does not come from a religion, culture, or group of people, but for the spiritual warrior in search and discoveries for basic goodness that brings us to a new level of relating to those around us and who we are in society.
For the last 25 plus years, this book has been used for the base of Shambhala Training. These meditation classes integrate the challenges and obstacles of daily life in our modern society as an opportunity for practice.
The Shambhala Sacred Path of the Warrior meditations focus on the basic goodness of human life and have you radiate that goodness out into the world for peace and sanity of others.
Discovering Basic Goodness
Part of this chapter goes into detail on the simple Shambhala Meditation technique and practice.
The Genuine Heart Of Sadness
I wonder if this chapter would be better titled Genuine Heart of tenderness or awareness. This Shambhala meditation is about learning to let the outside world touch your heart.
Synchronizing Mind and Body
When good posture and breathing happen naturally, your mind can relax in a natural state so you can start to see your genuine nature.
Chapter 8 & 9
Renunciation & Daring and Celebrating The Journey
In these chapters, we see how the spiritual warrior becomes available and tender towards others by opening up and becoming vulnerable. We learn to see our walls and are able to let go of them as we become more genuine.
The author, Chogyam Trungpa, shows us the basic goodness of human life. The warrior who takes on this path learns to radiate the inner goodness that we all have when dealing with obstacles when dealing with others, and with peace and sanity.
This was the first Buddhist book I picked up at a book store, by accident. After reading a few pages and picking it up and putting it down 4 times I decided I should just buy it. And so my path began.
