Peacefulness & Joyfulness Through Awareness On the Web

Developing more Awareness & Peacefulness

I think we all want more happiness & peace in our lives, but usually, our lives are full of activities out of our control to the point of being overwhelmed.

And then we create distractions ignoring our responsibilities and sometimes we create the bad habit distractions.

Leo Babauta Zen Habits gives a simple 3 step process for dealing with stressful situations.

I really like the last one that deals with developing peace in all the chaos by being more peaceful in the moment which leads to more awareness.

So which comes first the awareness or the peacefulness? I think they both work hand in hand.
What do you think?

Is our Past Holding Us Back?

Lately, I\’ve been having old stories come up that are a little depressing and really don\’t pertain to who I am and I wonder how I have let those negativities shaped my life.

Here are 3 stories from Kelly and how she dealt with them.

Change Your Mind

Is Buddhism a Religion?
I guess that\’s how you define religion.

To say that Buddhism is a religion is to take seriously not only its philosophy & its practices, but also its art, its literature, and mythology, and its rituals.

Tricycle Online Course

Tricycle is starting an online course program and one of the first classes will be on Effortless Mindfulness, describes the practice as meditating when you\’re doing daily activities, not on the cushion.

I think this is something we would all like to do, bringing mindfulness to our daily activities.

Do you Meditate?

This looks pretty interesting. They are looking for iPhone & iPad users.

I filled out the survey and because I use an Android they will contact me in the future when that testing takes place.

If you enroll let us know what you think.

Thoughts lead to actions
Actions create habits
and Habits create character

Mindfulness & Meditation

I think they both have different roles, one while you are sitting on the cushion and the other, doing everyday stuff, but they both have the same outcome, awareness.

What Really Makes Us Happy

When I wake up in the morning I think of what I need to do: pay bills, work stuff, clean up and etc and I look at them as jobs to be done, not much happiness with these thoughts or actions.

If I look at the big picture and others in the process it becomes a less self-centered activity and it becomes much easier to do.

About Jack

For me, meditation is an easy way to bring mindfulness and awareness to everyday activities. I have been practicing for more than 20 years and currently spending time on the cushion following the breath.
